In plain English

Your data belongs to you.

Zoe uses your information to be your assistant: to remember what matters to you, and to do the things you ask her to do. That is all it is for.

What Zoe can see

Nothing, until you point her at it. When you connect a mailbox or a calendar you choose which folders and which calendars she may read, and what she is allowed to do with them. She cannot see anything outside that, and she won't ask again.

You can change that choice, or disconnect the account entirely, at any time in Settings.

Zoe also has an email address of her own. Anything you forward to it, you have chosen to give her.

What we collect

Your account
Your name, email address, and how you have set Zoe up — including how you would like her to work.
What you ask her
Your conversations with Zoe, wherever they happen — the app, the web, or a messaging channel — and the voice notes and files you send her.
What she remembers
The notes and preferences she keeps so you don't have to explain yourself twice. All of it is written down where you can read, edit or delete it.
Connected content
Email, calendar entries, contacts, files and messages from the accounts you have connected — limited to the folders and calendars you named.
Technical data
Errors, latency, which tools a task needed, whether it succeeded. No message content, notes, emails or files are included in these reports.

How it is used

To provide your assistant. That means understanding what you have asked for, retrieving what the task needs, remembering what matters to you, and carrying out the things you have approved.

Information from your connected accounts is used only to provide the Zoe service. We do not use the contents of your connected accounts to improve Zoe.

Where possible, Zoe retrieves only the information a task needs rather than sending whole accounts or histories to an AI model.

Nothing goes out in your name without a yes.
Sending, replying, booking or paying is always put to you as a question first. When Zoe contacts someone on your behalf, it comes from her own address, not yours. Everything she does is recorded where you can see it.

Your notes are never used to train models

This is a contractual commitment, not a setting.

Your notes, your memories and information from connected services are not used to train Zoe's AI models or third-party AI models.

We select AI providers that meet our data-handling requirements, and configure them so that your content cannot be used for model training.

Your credentials stay outside the AI

Passwords, authentication tokens and other account credentials are kept outside AI model context. Zoe can use the permissions you have given her without those credentials ever being given to an AI model.

Your controls

Both of these live in Settings, and you can change them whenever you like.

Help improve Zoe with my conversations
Off
Turning this on allows us to use de-identified copies of your direct conversations with Zoe to understand failures and improve how she works. Connected email, calendar, files and other private-source content remain excluded. It does not allow your conversations to be used to train third-party AI models.
Crash and performance diagnostics
On
Shares technical information such as errors, performance, latency, model usage and tool failures so we can keep Zoe reliable. Message content, notes, emails, files and other personal content are never included in crash reports.

What she keeps

Zoe keeps what she needs to go on being useful: your notes and preferences, your conversations with her, and a record of what she did on your behalf.

You can delete anything she remembers, at any time. Unlink a connected account and what she read from it goes with it, within thirty days. Close your account and everything goes.

How we improve Zoe

Primarily from technical performance information: whether a task succeeded, which tools it needed, how long it took, errors, retries and resource usage.

Where you have chosen to help improve Zoe with your conversations, we may also review de-identified interaction data to understand where she could do better.

Who else sees it

We don't sell your personal information.

To run the service we use a small number of providers — including the AI providers that power Zoe's reasoning — under contracts that require them to handle your information only as we instruct, and that prevent your content being used for model training.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Most of it you can do yourself in Settings, without asking anyone.

If you would rather write to a person, the address is below and a human will reply.
